Picasa

At first I thought Picasa was completely unnecessary (not that it is entirely necessary, I mean, life will move on without it). I have now decided it it a great way to keep up with where all my photos are and I can be aware of any duplication of files (for those of you that are space conscious). I am also fond of the collaging capabilities (quick and simple). Picasa also edits photos with ease (red-eye; special effects like b/w, sephia, etc; cropping, and more!). Picasa also has many other features I like as well.

For what it is worth: I would recommend it.
